Guild Membership badge-authorized use only!

The Guild

Who We Are

That's actually a question we can't completely answer. We are an organization of computer security and software development professionals. Even within the Guild staff, few have access to the real identifications of the membership. Please read our anonymity statement.

What We Do

Simply put, we keep the virtual world working safely and efficiently. We develop software, test and certify hardware, and consult in the area of network and computer security. We keep systems safe from hackers, crackers, and corporate espionage agents who might otherwise compromise your computer security.

Guild Certification badge-unauthorized use prohibited by law.If you've spent any time at all around computers, you've seen the Guild Certification logo. This is your assurance that the labeled equipment, software, or network has come under the meticulous scrutiny of a Guild member. It is your guarantee that the item has either met our stringent standards, or, in the case of networks, is actively under our watchful control.

This membership badge assures you that the person doing work for you is an able professional member of the Guild. In fact, recent changes in US Federal regulations have established severe penalties for the unauthorized use of the Guild badges. No matter what the rank, from Acolyte to full Mage, this badge is our guarantee that the person performing the work for you is both competent and trustworthy.

The Guild Ranks

If you've hired a Guild member for a project before, you may have noticed the different rates for various member ranks. In short, the ranks are earned by Guild members as they gain experience and demonstrate their abilities.

Entry level members begin as Apprentices, then proceed, through experience and learning, to the Neophyte and Acolyte grades. Outstanding individuals may eventually qualify for Wizard, Sorcerer, Master, or Mage classes.

Appointment to Mage status is by appointment only, and it is the most demanding class. There are currently fewer than two dozen Mages in the world.
